CT Magazine Top Dentist 2011

We are proud to announce that for the third year in a row, Dr. Daniels was voted as a Connecticut Magazine Top Dentist/Orthodontist! Each year, Connecticut Magazine sends questionnaires to every dentist licensed in Connecticut -- over 2,700 total -- asking them to recommend a dentist (other than themselves) to whom they would send a loved one for expert dental care, including orthodontics.

Corporate Citizenship Award

Dr. Daniels was recently nominated for and awarded the Tolland County Chamber of Commerce’s Corporate Citizenship Award.  Dr. Daniels not only provides excellent orthodontic service, but he and staff also believe in giving back to the community. A few of the community outreaches are listed below: 

• During Dental Health Month, Dr. Daniels visited 4^th grade students in the Vernon area to teach them about proper oral hygiene and the importance of a healthy smile
• Organized a team of staff, friends and family to Walk for Multiple Sclerosis and raised over $3,000 for MS research
• Connecticut Valley Orthodontics is a drop off location for food donations for Hockanum Valley Community Council’s Basic Needs Program
• Donated unused office furniture to Hockanum Valley Community Council
• In March 2010, Dr. Daniels traveled to Guatemala to provide dental care to one of the most underserved area in the world.  Prior to leaving he raised funds and collected donated supplies which he brought with him to Guatemala.  While there, Dr. Daniels and a team of dentists, physicians and assistants treated over 250 individuals who are unable to afford or access regular dental services.  Over 75% of the patients that were seen were children that had never received previous dental care.  Education was an integral part of Dr. Daniels’ visit.  Patients were instructed on proper dental hygiene - toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss and other supplies were given to the patients for at home care.
• Makes regular donations for various sporting events, theater, musical venues, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America and other local events.

Brownie Troops Visit CVO

Dr. Daniels recently hosted two local Brownie troops.  Approximately 12 Brownies in each troop, ages 7 to 8, attended an evening program where Dr. Daniels gave an interactive presentation about proper brushing and flossing techniques, types of braces and, with the permission of one of the parents, an x-ray was taken and explained to the girls.

The evening wasn’t only educational. There were fun activities for the brownie troop including a tour of the office, a keepsake craft in which the girls decorated a plaster heart with flowers and a thumb print and each Brownie took home a photo of their group with Dr. Daniels.  If you’d like your Brownie Troop to visit Dr. Daniels, give Cheri a call.
